This is actually a wedding from quite a while ago now which I have been meaning to get round to blogging for quite some time. This is still one of my favourite weddings to date, not just because Samantha and James were totally awesome but also Carnglaze caverns is a truly unique Cornwall wedding venue.
When I first got the booking I was stoked as had been wanting to shoot there for a long time, I wasted no time and took an adventure up there the following week to see what I had to work with and boy did it not let me down. The lighting is extremely challenging as you are not allowed flash photography in the lower parts (because of the bats that live there, imagine the scene in Batman!) so constant lights are required the whole time.
Samantha and bridesmaids got ready at a nearby travel lodge, this was a real rock and roll wedding so the brides maids were in black dresses and doc martins boots! awesome right! After a few preparation photos we all set off to the wedding at Carnglaze caverns.
This really does have to be one my favourite place in Cornwall to get married, both the grounds and inside the caves are just breath taking everywhere, I can see why Sam and James eloped to Cornwall, there is no other place around like it. the underground lake is something else!
Samantha and James had there own vowels for the ceremony, always a really nice touch I find and makes the wedding so much more personal, smiles were all round.
It was a great crowd of guests who rocked into the night, here are my favourite pics from the wedding.
